Third Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Spirit

Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. (Acts 2:3-4)

If we study the Scriptures carefully, we see that the Holy Spirit is present in all the work of sanctification, especially in the formation and guidance of the early Christian communities. It is the Holy Spirit that transforms the apostles in new creatures, who guides them in their journeys, who fills the minds of the faithful with light and heavenly gifts, who sustains the early martyrs of the church.
